About the Author

Michelle Matz is the author of Acoustic Shadow (Main Street Rag, 2024). Her chapbook, Atilt, was a semi-finalist in the Ledge Poetry Contest and was published in 2006. Michelle’s poetry has appeared in numerous journals, including Salamander Magazine, The Lascaux Review, and Mud Season Review.

Michelle holds a BA in psychology from Wesleyan University, an MA in education from Stanford University, and an MFA in poetry from Mills College. She is a high school dean and lives on a hill in San Francisco where the neighbors gather every Wednesday evening to sip wine on a neighbor’s front steps.
